Team 36 is back!
Some things are apparently meant to be. When we entered the 2027 TransAmerican Endurance Run with our 1928 Moto Guzzi Sport 14, we knew we were bringing Peg Leg Speed Shop back for another cross-country adventure. What we didn't know was what number we'd be wearing.
Now we do.
36. Again!
Yep. We drew Number 36, the same team number we carried during our 2023 Motorcycle Cannonball adventure. And we couldn't be happier about it.
Team 36 Is Back!
For those who followed us across the country in 2023, Number 36 probably looks pretty familiar.
It was on the motorcycle.
It was on the support vehicle.
It was on our shirts and hats.
And now, four years later, we get to do it all over again. Only this time Team 36 will be attempting to cross America aboard Renata, our 1928 Moto Guzzi Sport 14 and sidecar.
That means something else rather convenient:
All that Team 36 merchandise we made last time is suddenly current again.
We prefer to call that excellent long-term inventory planning.

There will be some familiar faces and plenty of lessons carried forward from 2023, but this will be a very different challenge.
We're starting with a lighter motorcycle.
We're doing much more testing.
We're paying particular attention to heat, weight, gearing and sustained performance.
We're simplifying the road crew to a van without a trailer.
And this time I'll have Julie riding alongside me in the sidecar.
The machine is different.
The strategy is different.
The challenge is different.
But apparently the number stays the same.

Over the coming months we'll be sharing the preparation of Renata, testing the sidecar outfit, sorting out the inevitable mechanical problems and introducing the people who will help us get from one side of the country to the other.
Then we'll take all of you along when Team 36 heads west. In the meantime, grab some Team 36 gear while we've still got it.
